I’m going to make some assumptions here. 1 – you don’t have all day to train, 2 – you want results, 3 – you have a life outside of training.
These 3 exercises are simply awesome, and if I had only 10 minutes to train every day, these are the 3 exercises I’d do, and I’d spend about 3 minutes 20 seconds on each one! Righto – here we go….
- Kettlebell Swings – I’ve just spent 5 weeks reading a crap load of stuff about these awesome little dudes called Kettlebells, after first experimenting with them many years ago. They weasled their way back into my life when I injured myself running, yet again. I figured out that my hamstrings, glutes, back, and overall strength needed to improve. I’ve looked at dozens of exercises with Kettlebells, and I keep coming back to the first exercise I ever did with them. Google the heck out of Kettlebell swings, and start doing them. Get that bracing right, get that position right, and get moving!!KettleBell Swing demo with Corey
- Sprints – simply cannot be beaten. We were designed to run, so RUN! Sprints work your whole body, and for those of you doing low intensity workouts and slowly brainwashing yourselves that you can’t lose weight, cut the crap and start doing sprints. Seriously, you’ll enjoy it! Just make sure you are warmed up. If you are worried about getting injured, do them uphill to reduce the risk of popping a hamstring!
- Pushups – we all love pushups and with good reason. They are totally awesome!! So much more effective than any weights movement (okay Mr Squat, I hear you over there), they are great for core strength, obviously upper body, and balance. Do them, do lots of them.
Yep, those 3 should rock your world. Don’t waste your time on the planet, make your training count. If you can get more bang for your buck, then go for it. My secret weapon in training myself and others is whole body movements, and intensity. Don’t forget it. Get stuck into it. By the way, cut the sugar out, it’s a baddie!!
